Taylor Lynch, an Oklahoma State third baseman, is a finalist for National Freshman of the Year. She holds the Cowgirl record for longest hitting streak at 23 games.
Lynch, the Cowgirls' third baseman, was named to the top 25 finalists for the 2016 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year on Thursday.
The 5-foot-3 Cowgirl leads the Big 12 in batting average as she is hitting .437 and is second in the conference with 55 htis.
April 8, Lynch broke Shanel Scott's decade-old record with 18 straight games with a hit, and it didn't end until Saturday's game against Baylor at 23 consecutive games.
