The United States defeated Russia 95-80 in the quarterfinals of the FIBA U19 World Cup behind an impressive performance from one of Oklahoma State’s own, Isaac Likekele.
Likekele, a rising sophomore guard on OSU’s men’s basketball team, contributed five points, seven rebounds, three steals and three assists. Likekele also shot a solid 3-for-4 from the free throw line.
Friday’s win over Russia means that the United States will now face off against Lithuania. These two squads played each other in group play on June 30 when team USA came away with the 102-84 victory. During that matchup, Likekele had a great shooting performance scoring 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
