Down seven points halfway through the second quarter, the freshman OSU guard hoisted two threes on back-to-back offensive possessions. Both shots from the top of the key, were, well, key for Keys and the Cowgirls. She made both shots and erased a healthy seven-point cushion held by the Mustangs.
“That’s huge,” coach Jim Littell said of Key’s perimeter scoring ability, “She gives us a dimension where, if there is a loose ball or we get out in transition and she spots up, she gives you an opportunity to make runs by getting two or three threes in a hurry.
