John Kelly wasn’t stressed.
The Oklahoma State baseball team had fallen into a deep deficit against Central Arkansas, and Kelly, a freshman, stepped out of the bullpen to try to prevent further damage. Although the Bears defeated the Cowboys 8-4 on Tuesday night in Allie P. Reynolds Stadium, Kelly gave OSU a glimmer of optimism.
The game unraveled for the Cowboys (18-9) in the fourth inning when UCA brought in seven runs against relief pitcher Mitchell Stone. The Bears led 8-0, but Kelly was at ease as he prepared to enter the game.

“I just told myself that it’s gonna be a good day,” Kelly said.
