TULSA — As he sifted through his memories, Kaid Brock began naming Oklahoma State wrestlers.
Chris Pendleton, Johnny Thompson, Johny Hendricks.
Cowboy stars of more than a decade ago, whom Brock vividly remembers — and not the way most young fans recall their heroes.
“I would come up to the wrestling room,” Brock said. “I'd run up to ‘em, try to punch ‘em. I was just ornery. They were always real fun.
“Then I'd come to the matches and watch ‘em wrestle, and be like, ‘I wanna be there someday.'”
Brock has been “there” for a couple years now, following his standout career at Stillwater High in which he was a three-time state champion.
