John Lucas Makes 15-Man Roster for Minnesota Timberwolves

Former Oklahoma State point guard John Lucas has survived roster cuts and made the 15-man roster with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves waived Rasual Butler and Toure’ Murry, clearing the way for him to secure the final spot.

Lucas is in a unique position in Minnesota. The Wolves drafted Duke point guard Tyus Jones just last year out of Duke, and elected to take another point guard — Providence’s Kris Dunn — with the No. 5 pick in this year’s draft. They also return Ricky Rubio.

With Lucas making the 15-man with frankly an excess of point guards, it could signal that one of their players could be on the move.
