‘It’s in our head’: Missed opportunities cost OSU softball as it drops series against Iowa State

After a Bedlam loss and entering Sunday in a rubber match against Iowa State, Oklahoma State softball needed a win.

Despite their late-game momentum, the Cowgirls fell 8-4 to the Cyclones. Costly errors, pitching struggles and challenges capitalizing on run-scoring opportunities played a part in the Cowgirls' loss.

Coach Kenny Gajewski recognized the girls' struggles to execute offensively again. Another chance, and another missed opportunity.

“We can’t seem to grab momentum,” Gajewski said. “It’s in our head. We are too talented to continue this stuff.”

The first two innings were enough to defeat OSU (24-14, 6-7 Big 12), as Katie Kutz started in the circle; she gave up four hits and walked four in 1 1/3 innings.
