As Oklahoma State wrestler Nick Piccininni described the intensity he expected inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena when the Cowboys face Iowa at 7 p.m. Sunday.
At the other end of the table, redshirt freshman Travis Wittlake looked and listened as the elder Cowboy spoke.
“I’m really, really excited,” said Piccininni, a fifth-year senior. “It’s gonna be fireworks. It’s gonna be packed. That Iowa crowd, man.
“I’m excited for our team to go there and experience that, especially before the Big 12s and NCAAs.”
For Wittlake, it will be his first of what should be many situations in a big environment.
