Haley Woodard met her father on accident.
Woodard, a junior on the Oklahoma State women’s soccer team, didn’t know her biological father, Femi Akadiri, until she was 11. She said this was about the time she started asking questions about him.
When Woodard was an infant, her mother, Candice Woodard, married Kevin Woodard, and she said he wanted them to become a family, so he adopted Woodard. Femi Akadiri, who lives in Oklahoma City, stayed unknown to Woodard until she and her mother ran into him at a furniture store about 10 years ago.
“I literally met him on accident in a furniture store,” Woodard said.
