Bill Snyder has retired, again, as the Kansas State football coach, and this time it figures to take. Seventy-nine years old. Built K-State from the depths of depressing football into a Big Eight/Big 12 power. Then after a three-year hiatus, rebuilt the Wildcats from mediocre back into a meaningful Big 12 football entity.
Snyder spanned generations. When he was hired, Barry Switzer was the Oklahoma coach and Tom Osborne was the Nebraska coach. When Snyder retired the first time, Bob Stoops was the Oklahoma coach and Bill Callahan was the Nebraska coach. When Snyder retired this time, Lincoln Riley is the Oklahoma coach and Nebraska is only someone that we used to know.
