STILLWATER — The discussions had begun well before Chad Weiberg was hired as Oklahoma State's deputy director of athletics last May.
But once he took the job, one of Weiberg's biggest undertakings became studying the viability of selling alcohol at the school's athletic events.
With college programs across the country looking for ways to both entice fans and generate additional revenue, the idea of alcohol sales has become a popular topic on a national scale — particularly at football games.
With the vote earlier this month by the Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges, Oklahoma State came one step closer to putting beer and wine in its concession stands at Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturdays next fall.
