Coaches disapprove of a narrative that Claire Timm "came out of nowhere."
It may appear so to fans. Timm took 35 plate appearances as a freshman in 2023 and is now one of the best — if not the best — hitter on the team as a sophomore.
Her breakout is one of many on an Oklahoma State softball team that features eight underclassmen who are consistent starters.
"That kid's been steady since the day she got here," said hitting coach Vanessa Shippy-Fletcher. "She's just really consistent... with not only her emotions, but also her work.
