On August 19, 2018, Oklahoma State men's golfer Viktor Hovland won the U.S Amateur Championship.
Winning the title meant the Norwegian-born golfer could compete in the 2019 Masters, U.S. Open and Open Championship.
In the 2019 Masters tournament, Hovland finished 3-under-par and had the lowest score among the six amateurs competing.
In the last round of the Masters, Hovland shot 1-under-par.
Hovland's finish was one shot better than former Arkansas standout and current amateur Alvaro Ortiz.
Devon Bling, who Hovland defeated to win the U.S. Amateur Championship, finished 3-over-par.
The tournament was historic for Hovland as he became the first Norweigan golfer to compete at the Masters.
