Former Oklahoma State golfer Viktor Hovland won the Puerto Rico Open this weekend to become the first rookie to win on the PGA Tour this season.
Hovland started off the tournament posting a four-under 68 and followed that up with a 66 to share the lead going into the weekend. On Saturday Hovland shot his tournament low posting a 64 to hold a share of the lead heading in the fourth and final round.
The former Cowboy fought through poor weather conditions to post a final round 70. Hovland hit a 30-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to capture his first PGA Tour win with a score of 20-under par.
