Dieringer will wrestle for gold medal in Turkey
ISTANBUL – Oklahoma State volunteer assistant and Cowboy RTC member Alex Dieringer notched two wins Friday morning to advance to the gold-medal match at the 2019 Yasar Dogu.
The former Cowboy wrestler faced off against Abubakr Abakarov of Azerbaijan in the first match of the day winning via superiority, 10-0, in just 54 seconds. Dieringer scored four before getting to a gut wrench and turning Abakarov three times.
In the semifinals bout, Dieringer defeated Bahman Mohammed Teymouri, 4-0. His win over the Iranian positioned him for a Saturday morning matchup with 2017 U23 World silver medalist Akhsarbek Gulaev of Slovakia.
