Max Hewitt had one at-bat against Oklahoma, and it ended the game.
Hewitt, a junior on the Oklahoma State baseball team, stepped up to the plate with two outs and runners on the corners in the bottom of the ninth inning. He sliced a single up the middle, and pinch runner Noah Sifrit raced from third base to cross home. Hewitt’s teammates emerged from the dugout and stormed the diamond to surround him in celebration.
OSU slipped past OU 6-5 on Tuesday night during the last Bedlam game in Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. The nonconference walk-off victory extended the Cowboys’ winning streak against the Sooners to eight.
