Harper notches first career pick six in Cowboys’ victory against South Alabama

When a cluster of disruptive defenders bombarded Evan Orth, Oklahoma State linebacker Devin Harper saw a chance and took it.

When it happened in the spring, Harper didn’t showcase his speed.

Jim Knowles, the OSU football team’s defensive coordinator, said he gave Harper a tough time when he intercepted the ball in spring practice because he collided with offensive players instead of finding a route around them. Knowles expected more from Harper, a skilled running back in high school.

In the Cowboys’ second game of the season, Harper delivered.

He tallied his first career interception, which he returned for a touchdown, as the Cowboy football team vanquished South Alabama 55-13 on Saturday night in Boone Pickens Stadium.
