Latavia Coleman consistently told her team that if any player wanted to do extra workouts, she was always available.
The open invitation given out by Coleman, the girls basketball coach of Howard High School in Georgia, was always there, but only one player consistently put in the extra time.
That player was Brittany Reeves.
“Whether it was during school hours or after hours…she was the only one,” said Coleman.
The work ethic that Reeves possessed in her high-school career, Coleman said, first enabled her to play college basketball at Independence Community College.
