Gundy semifinalist for national coach of the year award

Friday, Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy was announced as one of the 18 semifinalists for the George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year Award.

Gundy’s Cowboys are 10-0 and are ranked No. 4 in the AP Poll and the Amway Coaches Poll. OSU is No. 6 in the College Football Playoff rankings heading into its matchup with No. 10 Baylor at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Gundy is also on the watch list for the Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year Award and the Bobby Dodd Trophy, two other national coach of the year awards.

Semifinalist voting for the award, presented by the Maxwell Football Club, begins Monday and will run for two weeks.
