Coach Mike Gundy will have not one, not two, but three defensive assistants call plays during Saturday’s Fiesta Bowl.
The announcement comes weeks after defensive coordinator Jim Knowles departed Oklahoma State for the same gig at Ohio State.
Gundy said during Saturday’s game the play-calling responsibilities will be divided up amongst defensive line coach Joe Bob Clements, cornerbacks coach Tim Duffie and safeties coach Dan Hammerschmidt.
“Well, we'll have a couple guys calling plays for us,” Gundy said on Friday. “We'll do it on first and 10 and then third downs, passing situations. After watching it for the last three weeks, we've had a number of guys in the room that I was comfortable with.
