CATOOSA — Larry Reece gave a nod to Bryant “Big Country” Reeves with a mock introduction from another area code and another casino Monday night.
Reeves was at Norman's Riverwind Casino, of course, for his induction into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame. Still, he was cheered in Catoosa, where Reece revved up Oklahoma State fans packing the latest Cowboy Caravan stop inside the convention center at Hard Rock Tulsa.
“We know this is an Oklahoma State city,” prodded Reece, OSU's prominent public address man and the emcee for the evening.
And it was an Oklahoma State room, with poms and Pistol Pete playing to an orange-clad crowd and a video review of the school's 2016-17 athletic successes, before Josh Holliday, Mike Boynton and finally Mike Gundy joined Reece on stage.
