Green, Cowboys' defense hold strong against Mountaineers

Oklahoma State junior cornerback A.J. Green has seen his fair share of late-game, lead-changing catches.

The final pass Saturday went toward Green yet again, and this time he and the Cowboys found redemption, defeating No. 9 West Virginia 45-41 in Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Cowboys’ defense kept OSU within reach the entire game and it didn’t allow WVU quarterback Will Grier and the high-scoring Mountaineer offense to score when it needed to most.

OSU had just taken the lead after Cowboy senior quarterback Taylor Cornelius found Tylan Wallace for an 11-yard touchdown and gave the Mountaineers the ball back with 42 seconds.
