J.R. Davis fields the ball. The Cowboys dropped a second game to Texas Tech on Saturday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
As a reporter walks up to him postgame, Davis, the Oklahoma State baseball team’s second baseman, reaches his hand out to meet the man who will do the asking.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Davis says in the same monotone voice he uses win or lose.
The questions begin.
Inquiries about how he went from coach Josh Holliday calling him a “depth” player to a full-time starter. Questions about how he fought through a broken ankle and made it to a Division-I program.
