Thirteen pounds — the weight difference between the 197-pound class and the 184-pound class in wrestling.
Gaining, and losing those 13 pounds is something that redshirt senior Dakota Geer has become used to.
Geer started out last season at 184, but was quickly bumped up to 197 to help the Cowboys fill that spot, and adding on that weight during the middle of the season was something that Geer said was difficult.
“I was kind of small (at 197) last year,” Geer said.
Now with freshmen A.J. Ferrari and Luke Surber giving the Cowboys suitable depth at the 197-weight class, Geer was able to move back down to the 184-weight class for this upcoming season.
