While Christian Funk spoke in a postgame interview, Carson McCusker sneaked up behind him.
McCusker grinned as he placed a white cowboy hat on his teammate’s head. That hat has rotated among key players in the Oklahoma State baseball team’s recent games, and Funk, a first baseman, fueled OSU’s offense as it defeated Kansas on Friday.
Funk and the Cowboys captured both victories in a doubleheader against the Jayhawks at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. The Cowboys throttled the Jayhawks 12-1 in the afternoon game, which ended on a run rule in the seventh inning. Kansas challenged OSU more in the evening matchup, but the Cowboys sealed the game 4-3.
