Oona Orpana and Mananchaya Sawangkaew embraced their excitement as they walked off the concrete courts of the Greenwood Tennis Center.
Five Cowgirls went into singles play with hopes of making the championship round in the Big 12 Fall Invitational. Only two remain after day one heading into the semifinal plays, both freshmen.
“The (freshmen) were very good,” coach Chris Young said. “Oona especially… I thought they showed a lot of toughness.”
All three freshmen Cowgirls who competed for Oklahoma State won their opening round matches in singles play; Sofia Rojas, Orpana and Sawangkaew.
