TULSA -- The incessant yells of a boisterous crowd resonated throughout the Reynolds Center and surrounded Michael Weathers when he stood at the free-throw line.
He and his Oklahoma State men’s basketball teammates had less than a minute to overcome their deficit against Tulsa.
They almost made it happen.
As OSU displayed inconsistency from the charity stripe, Tulsa’s late free throws prevented the Cowboys from taking the lead. The Golden Hurricane claimed a 74-71 victory on Wednesday night.
Weathers, a redshirt sophomore guard, faced the student section’s imposing wall of sound with 28 seconds left and missed the first free-throw shot.
