In the middle of the night, Mason Cox dominated an Australian rules football game in front 94,959 people at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. That’s about seven times the capacity of Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Cox, a former basketball player at Oklahoma State, led his Australian Football League team to the Grand Finals, as Collingwood defeated Richmond 97-58.
Cox had three goals and a behind (19 points) to send the Magpies to their first AFL Grand Final in seven years. All three of Cox’s goals came in the second quarter where the Australian fans burst into chants of U-S-A.
Here’s the report from an Australian news service.
