Former Oklahoma State All-American Harry Cheatwood has died of natural causes, Oklahoma State announced Friday.
He was 73 years old.
The ex-Cowboy was once a star safety who earned first-team All-American honors in 1967 after totaling 127 tackles, 10 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. That year he earned first-team All-Big Eight honors as well.
He tied for the team lead in interceptions in 1965, with two, and repeated in 1966 as the team leader with three. His OSU career spanned 1965-1967.
Cheatwood was one of only three All-American football players for Oklahoma State in the 1960s, joining Jon Kolb and John Ward.
