Former Cowboy Brooks Thompson fighting for his life

Larry Reece, voice of the Cowboys, called out the Oklahoma State “Prayer Posse” this weekend.

Reece, via a Facebook post, called for prayers for former Cowboys basketball player Brooks Thompson, who is fighting to survive after being diagnosed with double organ failure.

Thompson played for OSU from 1992-94, then was the 27th pick of the Orlando Magic in the 1994 NBA Draft. He played for five teams in the NBA before returning to OSU in 1998 as an undergraduate assistant for Eddie Sutton. He served as the team’s director of basketball operations in 2001-02, following one season as coach at Tulsa’s Metro Christian High School in 1999-200.
