Vanessa Shippy is back in Stillwater as a volunteer assistant coach for the Cowgirl softball team.
Shippy was a star during her playing days with the Cowgirls. She earned All-American honors three times and won Big 12 Player of the Year in 2018. In her senior season, she was named a top-10 finalist for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.
“We can’t say enough good things about Vanessa,” coach Kenny Gajewski said in a press release. “When the opportunity presented itself to bring her back to Stillwater, we jumped at the chance. She’ll be a great influence on our program and we’re fortunate to have her back home with us.
