STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Trey Cobb won't ever look at the final pitch of his Cowboys career fondly, since Missouri State's Jeremy Eierman deposited it over the right field wall for a walk-off home run at the Arkansas Regional.
Still, Cobb believed he'd made a good pitch. Seems the New York Mets believed it, too, ahead of this week's Major League Baseball Draft.
“Their area scout called last week and said, ‘Hey, I saw you throw at Arkansas. And despite the outcome, I think that was the best I've seen you,'” Cobb said in recalling the conversation.
