For the first time as head coaches, Mike Gundy and Manny Diaz face off.
Gundy, the established head coach at Oklahoma State, has guided the Cowboys to their 15th straight bowl game and will face off against Diaz, who is in his second season at the helm of Miami.
This will be the latest chapter in the two coaches' history, one in which they have seen each other to varying degrees multiple times since the turn of the century.
"He was in our league for a while,” Gundy said. “I know they were excited with him being from down in that area.
