Freshman point guard Jawun Evans led Oklahoma State to a third-place finish in the Gildan Charleston Classic with a 82-77 win over Long Beach State.
OSU defeated Long Beach State 82-77 on Sunday to claim third place in the Gildan Charleston Classic. Freshman point guard Jawun Evans, who scored 21 points, corralled seven rebounds and dished two assists, carried the Cowboys.
The Cowboys were missing senior guard Phil Forte, who suffered a left elbow injury in Thursday’s victory over Towson. OSU (4-1) was also without Leyton Hammonds and Tavarius Shine.
In their absence, Anthony Allen stepped up, scoring 13 points.
