The Pacific Coast League honored an Oklahoma City Dodgers pitcher for the second straight week Monday, naming former Oklahoma State right-hander Scott Baker the Pitcher of the Week after he nearly threw a perfect game against Iowa.
Baker came one out shy of a seven-inning perfect game last Monday in Iowa. Cubs prospect Addison Russell broke up the bid with a single up the middle. Baker finished the game allowing just two hits for the shutout to drop his ERA to 1.06.
Baker was promoted to Los Angeles for a spot start Sunday and he pitched well there, allowing three runs on four hits over seven innings.
