Every few minutes, the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team showed another defensive look.
A strong defensive performance led OSU to a 76-51 victory against the University of California, Riverside on Sunday in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
In the Cowgirls’ second game of the season, they threw a few different defensive schemes at the Highlanders, frequently switching between a man defense and various zone defenses.
The strategy largely worked against their opponent’s pure-motion offense. The Cowgirls forced 22 turnovers, which translated offensively to help them shoot 12 more shots than UC Riverside and to allow them to get out on the break.
