Tanya de Souza is a goalie on a mission.
During Oklahoma State’s 3-0 victory Sunday against Abilene Christian at Cowgirl Soccer Complex, de Souza deflected any hopes the Wildcats had of scoring.
In the fourth minute, de Souza slid beneath a ACU’s sprinting Dylan Owens, disrupting the Wildcats first chance.
“It was too early to get scored on,” de Souza said. “I’m glad I was able to make that save.”
OSU has outscored its opponents 25-4 through eight games this season; a testament to the laser-focused play of de Souza and Michela Ongaro.
In 297 minutes in the net, de Souza has been scored on just once this season.
