Something that made last night so fun was seeing guys like Taylor Cornelius come out on top. Especially when you consider recent (non-Texas) history.
Cornelius accounted for six touchdowns – five passing and one rushing. And with the Cowboys down 41-38 with 2:38 remaining, he directed a seven-play, 75-yard drive to the winning score, complete when he found emerging star Tylan Wallace for an 11-yard touchdown with 42 seconds left. Wallace did his share, carrying West Virginia corner Keith Washington Jr. on his back the final yards, but Cornelius was the delivery man on a night he completed 30 of 46 throws.
