Virginia Tech will have its hands full with the breakneck pace Oklahoma State keeps – a problem they’re aware of.
The Cowboys, coached by Mike Gundy, move at as fast of a tempo as the Hokies have seen this year. Oklahoma State is averaging 2.74 plays per minute of possession, seventh nationally. To put that in perspective, Syracuse, which gave Tech fits last year, leads the country this season at 2.84. West Virginia’s 12th at 2.67.
The Hokies had their issues with the latter, allowing 592 yards, including 371 in the air, to the Mountaineers in what was a skin-of-their-teeth 31-24 victory back in Week 1.
