TulsaWorld’s Bill Haisten is confident Mike Gundy will be back on the market looking for a new offensive coordinator in 2019… assuming one thing happens.
At Oklahoma State, Mike Yurcich has gotten positive results from a variety of quarterback circumstances. The Cowboys had a 10-win outcome from the Clint Chelf-J.W. Walsh combination in 2013, from the Mason Rudolph-Walsh combination in 2015 and from Rudolph in 2016 and 2017.
If Yurcich and coach Mike Gundy can get a nine- or 10-win finish from a 2018 Cowboy squad quarterbacked by a former walk-on (Taylor Cornelius), a first-year freshman (Spencer Sanders) or a graduate transfer from the University of Hawaii (Dru Brown), then Yurcich will be on the national short list of the hottest coordinator candidates for head-coaching jobs.
