For the first time in program history, Oklahoma State has a Wooden Award finalist.
Cade Cunningham was named one of five finalists for the Wooden Award on Friday, an award given to the most outstanding player in college basketball. Ayo Dosunmu (Illinois), Jared Butler (Baylor), Luka Garza (Iowa) and Corey Kispert (Gonzaga) are the other finalists.
Cunningham was also named to the Wooden Award’s All-American team, becoming the third Cowboy to pick up that honor. He joins John Lucas III (2005) and James Anderson (2010) as OSU players to earn that recognition.
It’s just the latest outlet to name Cunningham an All-American, as the Associated Press, the National Association of Basketball Coaches, USA Today, the Sporting News, The Athletic and the United States Basketball Writers Association have all also recently named Cunningham as an All-American.
