Cowgirls' winning streak snapped, lose to Tulsa

The Oklahoma State softball team's 12-game winning streak came to an end Wednesday, as it lost 2-0 against in-state foe Tulsa at Collins Family Softball Complex.

Tulsa pitcher Emily Watson was dominant. She struck out 14 of the 25 batters she faced while allowing only two hits. Vanessa Shippy and Maddi Holcomb each hit singles, though OSU's offense couldn't generate much against Tulsa's ace.

Rylie Spell's solo shot in the bottom of the second gave Tulsa a lead, and Morgan Neal's second triple gave the Golden Hurricane their second run.

The Cowgirls (21-7) return home to open Big 12 play against Iowa State for a three-game series beginning Friday.
