Defense, defense and more defense.
The Oklahoma State women’s basketball team has started the season 2-0 on the strength of its lockdown defense. The Cowgirls held its two opponents to shooting only 28.7% from the field. They’ve also held opposing teams to under 50 points per game.
OSU followed up its fantastic defensive performance in the season opener against Idaho with a similar effort against Lamar. The Cowgirls had 37 deflections against Lamar, the same mark they hit with Idaho.
Deflections are a stat usually only measured by teams, but it’s a great measure of defensive intensity.
