Cowgirls sweep series with strong defensive play

While the Oklahoma State softball team's bats got hot early, the defense down the stretch helped proved key.

The Cowgirls won their series-sweeping game against Kansas 7-3 on Saturday at Cowgirl Stadium.

In the first inning, Sydney Pennington started the scoring after she hit a double that drove in Samantha Show.

Mady Lohman then smashed the ball over the left center wall for a two-run home run. OSU (29-11, 7-2 Big 12) quickly found itself up 3-0.

Kansas (14-24, 2-4 Big 12) did not go away quietly.
