In college tennis matches, the opening doubles point often proves to be significant for both the final score and team momentum.
That was the case in the No. 10 Oklahoma State women’s tennis team’s 4-0 win against San Diego Saturday at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center. The Cowgirls struggled early on in the doubles point but managed to rally and close strongly.
“We got off to a slow start, credit San Diego they came out really playing good solid doubles in the beginning,” OSU coach Chris Young said. “We didn’t really have the energy that we needed in doubles, so we had to scrap and get it back.
