A hard-fought match, but Virginia proved to be too much to handle for Oklahoma State.
The Cowgirl tennis season ended after a Sweet Sixteen defeat to Virginia, 4-1. Freshman Oona Orpana scored the only single point for OSU.
The Cowgirls knew they would be in for a tough match as four of the six Cavalier singles players are ranked within the ITA Top 125. OSU’s Lisa Marie Rioux experienced this first hand, as she duked it out against the No. 1 ranked player, Emma Navarro. Navarro showed off her skills as she defeated Rioux 6-1 in straight sets.
