Coming into an exhibition game against Northeastern State, the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team looked to replace four of its top-five scorers from a year ago.
Although the emergence of new scoring output didn’t happen quickly, the Cowgirls overcame a sloppy start to defeat Northeastern State 70-37 on Sunday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls started slowly out of the gate, turning the ball over five times in the first quarter while holding just a 10-9 lead against the Division II Riverhawks heading into the second. Sophomore Braxtin Miller, an All-Big 12 preseason selection, struggled to get anything going and had two points through the first 10 minutes.
