Expectations were high when the Oklahoma State women's tennis team faced the Kansas Jayhawks in a top-10 matchup to open conference play on Friday evening.
No. 10 Kansas (9-3, 0-1 conference) would fall to notch the Cowgirls' first top-10 victory this season.
In the teams' previous meeting this year (a 4-3 victory for the Cowgirls), OSU would rally for four singles victories to offset losing the doubles point. But in their second meeting, the Cowgirls were determined to start doubles better.
“I think the doubles made the difference today,” OSU senior Sofia Blanco said.
