The Oklahoma State women’s golf team knew the field was going to be one of the toughest it would face all season, and the results showed as the Cowgirls finished sixth. Nearing the end of the final round, OSU was two shots shy of tying then-leader Northwestern. The Cowgirls struggled on the final three holes, shooting 6-over-par.
The Cowgirls finished the final round at even par, but they could have been a part of something rare, a four-way tie for first. Northwestern, Arizona and Georgia ended in a three-way tie for first after shooting 12-under-par.
“I don’t pay much attention to score, while we’re out there,” OSU coach Courtney Jones said.
