Niki McKnight scored the lone goal for the Cowgirls on Friday night in their 2-1 overtime loss to No. 2-ranked West Virginia.
No. 2 West Virginia came to Cowgirl Soccer Complex, but Oklahoma State did not back down. However, the Cowgirls’ efforts were not enough to pull off the upset as OSU fell to WVU 2-1 in overtime.
“It’s tough,” OSU coach Colin Carmichael said. “There is no moral victories. We played straight up with those guys, and I would say it was a pretty even game, and we get nothing.”
Madison Mercado and Marlo Zoller picked up two early yellow cards in the 2nd and 14th minutes respectively.
